Opening Day Whats New
Opening Day: What’s New?
Country Pig Races
Our biggest new attraction for 2015 is our Country Pig Races, located at the far end of the Barnyard! Come join Tucker and Sam as they race our pigs around the track. It’s a fun and exciting event for all!
Maizie’s Dairy Barn
Formerly the Coffees & Creams building, Maizie’s Dairy Barn will be selling all things dairy! You can get hand-dipped ice cream, milkshakes, and NEW for this year, soft-serve ice cream! Of course, we will still have coffee and iced coffee for sale as well.
Lemonade in the Courtyard
You’ve made the request—and we’ve answered the call! You can now get our delicious, freshly-squeezed lemonade in the Courtyard, down by the Home Cookin’ Café. No need to trek back up across the railroad tracks when you want another refill to take on the road! Don’t worry, it will still be available in the Barnyard as well.
Kettle Corn and Lemonade in the Barnyard
There’s nothing like the smell of freshly-popped kettle corn! The Kettle Corn Wagon has been relocated to the Barnyard, which means that the smell will waft down across the entire property! If you don’t have time to walk up into the Barnyard, don’t worry—our kettle corn will still be available for sale all across the property! You can pick it up at the Courtyard food corral, the Sweet Shop, or the General Store.
Our freshly-squeezed lemonade will move up to this wagon as well, can’t you tell?? Lemonade and Kettle Corn are the perfect combo to munch on while you watch the Pig Races, also located at that end of the Barnyard.
Relaxation area by the General Store
Right outside the General Store and Sweet Shop, you’ll notice a new relaxation area, beautifully landscaped by Next to Nature Landscaping and furnished by Peaceful Valley Furniture. This is the perfect place for Dad and Grandpa to sit and relax while Mom and the kids are inside doing some shopping!
School House Sweet Shop
We’ve truly transformed this building into a “sweet shop,” so come inside and check out the new additions! It might look like a schoolhouse from the outside, but inside we’ve repainted the walls, trim, and furnishings with bright colors. Check out our new supply of bulk candies, try some local chocolates, and of course, we still have our delicious home-made fudge!
Our General Store also has a whole new look this year—and lots of new merchandise! Stop inside to see the rustic country displays, new logo merchandise, and a delightful assortment of local cheeses and jellies!
20th Anniversary Corn Maze
Of course, we have a new maize maze design every year—and this year is no exception! We’re going back to our roots to celebrate our 20th season by bringing back the steam locomotive maze. Don’t worry, it’s not the same design (what would be the fun in THAT??), so even our maze veterans who’ve returned year after year will enjoy this year’s maze! Inside the maze, you’ll find activities, photo ops, and more that harken back to years past. There’s something to represent every maze that we’ve had—can you find them all? This year, the Kernels of Knowledge feature trivia questions about Cherry Crest, so you’ll come out of the maze knowing a bit more about the history of our farm and our maze!
